Sithwicks Irish Ale

  • SRM Color : 17
  • Brewer: Smithwicks
  • Brewer's Description: Smithwick’s is Ireland’s number one ale. Its exceptional taste, distinctive colour and purity of ingredients make it unique. Its rich, satisfying taste has earned it five gold medals in the famous Monde Selection Beer Tasting Competition. Smithwick’s is produced using the finest hops and special roasted, malted barley.
  • Recommended Glassware: A Nonic or Conic
  • Russ' rating: 8 of 10
  • With the brew: Pork Chops in Tiger sauce
  • Comments: Smithwicks poured nice and heavy with an average size (0.5mm - 0.7mm) bubble in the head. The aroma was of malt and almost a fruity sweetness. The body of the beer was a beautiful rich copper color, like a worn lucky penny. The flavor itself was rich and malty, with barely a whisper of hoppy bitterness. The drink was smooth and warming, and compliments a rich meal quite well. I enjoyed Smithwicks completely. I would recommend it to a drinker fond of Nut Brown or Cream ales, or anyone who likes their brew on the  malty side of life.
