Obsidian Stout

  •  SRM Color : 35
  • Brewer: Deschutes Brewery
  • Brewer's Description: Deep, robust and richly rewarding, this is beer to linger over. Obsidian has distinct notes of espresso, chocolate, roasted malt and black barley, with just enough hop bite to cut the sweetness.
  • Russ' rating: 9 of 10
  • With the brew: Cool, Crisp Fall weather, and an apple.
  • Comments: I owe my friend Steve C. for providing this beer. Brewed in Bend OR, it has a dark rich color and flavor. I trade him a six pack of Obsidian Stout for a 6 pack of Bully!, and we constantly argue over who did who the bigger favor. The head is a caramel color that leaves a ring in your glass to mark your pace. Seldom are there many rings in my glass. The flavor has a thick chocolaty note from the black barley, and less hops than you would guess, making it a rich malty Beer. This one ranks very high in my list of Favorite Beer.

Do you agree? Do you think I completely missed on this one? Feel free to leave a comment below, give me a +1, or "Like" my post!
